Welcome to the Lower School! Kindergarten through 6th Grade.
At Akiba Yavneh Academy’s Lower School, we are committed to educating the whole child—academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally.
Our dual curriculum offers rigorous general and Judaic studies, emphasizing critical thinking, deep understanding, and a lifelong love of learning. Students are immersed in an environment that fosters a strong connection to Judaism and the Land of Israel, while also nurturing curiosity, creativity, and character. Our small student to teacher ratio allows for personalized attention geared to set each child up for success.
Academic Excellence Across Disciplines
Judaic Learning with Purpose
Our Judaics program instills strong Jewish identity, values, and textual skills. Using a centers-based approach, classes are differentiated to meet individual needs and foster independent learning. Students are supported and enriched at every level to ensure they grow with confidence in their knowledge and commitment.
A Vibrant and Supportive Community
Daily tefillot (prayers) bring meaning and joy to our students’ spiritual development. In addition to core subjects, students engage weekly in physical education, art, library, technology, STEAM and social-emotional learning. Recess is purposefully built into each day to promote physical activity and healthy peer relationships. Every Friday, our Lower School gathers for Shabbat Shebang—a joyful community assembly filled with songs, learning, and celebration
Character Development and Leadership
Our Kavod (Respect) Program empowers students to make positive choices and contribute to a
kind, respectful classroom culture. Weekly recognition during Shabbat Shebang highlights students who go above and beyond in demonstrating integrity, responsibility, and leadership.
